Questions about Flight attendant's position:

 

1. How particularly good do the swimming skills have to be in order to be compliant with requirements?

You have to be able to swim 50m and be comfortable to jump and swim in deep water.

 

2. What does the "long hours" really mean - what is the standard monthly workload?

Monthly duty hours are planned according to Latvian Labour Law and EU regulations (160 - 190h per month).

 

3. What is the average income for a flight attendant - at least give us at approximate range?

Income depends on the seniority level. Junior Cabin crew earns in average 460 LVL/gross. Senior Cabin crew earns in average 800 LVL/gross.

 

4. How long in average does a flight attendant career last?

It depends on each individuals wishes. Some people work for example 2 years and then leave for office work, some have worked since the company has been established.

 

5. What are the career growth opportunities (those are mentioned in a vacancy announcement)?

Career growth: from cabin attendant  trainee - till senior, instructor, supervisor. All that can be reached in 3-5 years.

 

6. What should a person seriously consider before applying?

When applying, we suggest to consider following issues: have you ever flown with commercial airline as a passenger, did you feel comfortable during turbulence? You have to be in good health condition, have to be a good swimmer with no visible tatoos and piercings. Fluent Latvian, English and Russian are essential.
